One of the most effective music marketing campaigns I have ever launched as a DIY musician

I didn’t think much about it at the time, but looking back I can say that this is one of the most effective music marketing campaigns I have launched. I have tried so many things on other platforms including key word bidding, newspaper advertisements, sending CDs to radio stations though the mail, and many more. I have wasted a lot of money over the years trying different things without much to show for the efforts.

After years of trying to get Spotify followers and promoting my artist page I realized how difficult it is to get people to care enough about my music to actually follow on the Spotify platform. I have changed my focus back to Jango Radio promotion. Years ago I launched a few songs on Jango Radio, and got quite a few followers, and very kind comments. I realized that I have put way too much of my time and focus on just Spotify, and I let other options fade into the background.

Looking back at my Jango Radio page I reflected on the fact that I was able to gain over 300 followers, and many amazing comments that showed me that people do care about independent music. Could it be that Jango Radio listeners are more open to new artists? The amount of plays I can get on Jango Radio for my money is far better promotion than the money I have been putting into other methods of promotion.

Here are some stats from my Jango page to show how well this worked. I still have no idea how to boost my Spotify follower count, but it’s been pretty easy with Jango.
