Coffee & a Playlist 2025 Christmas Advent Calendar

Finding a quiet place to cozy up with a good book– it’s the ultimate meditation. A blissful escape from the constant barrage of computer screens, phone notifications, and incessant ringtones. With my earthing mat under my feet, I opened my book and lost myself.

Even after just half an hour, my mind feels refreshed, as if I’ve taken a rejuvenating nap. For that precious time, I was free from the tyranny of my own thoughts, and as I closed the book, I felt a subtle shift, a glimpse into a new perspective on life.

It’s been ages since I last held a paperback in my hands, and I can confidently say that reading a physical book provides a deeper level of immersion than listening to an audiobook. While I’ve been an avid Audible subscriber for over 15 years and truly appreciate the platform, there’s an undeniable difference. Reading allows for a more profound escape, a complete submersion where I cease to exist as an individual. My worries fade away, the to-do list disappears, and the looming shadow of tomorrow’s work vanishes. I am simply there, in the moment, with the book.

I wholeheartedly recommend this experience. Disconnect from your devices – phones, laptops, iPads, whatever they may be – find a quiet corner, and immerse yourself in the joy of reading. It’s an incredibly rewarding feeling.
