It just wouldn’t feel like Christmas without the top holiday hits filling my favorite playlist. While the most popular Christmas songs might be overplayed, they’re exactly what I need at the start of the season to get into the holiday spirit. The classics bring waves of nostalgia and joyful memories of past holiday gatherings with my family—exchanging gifts, sharing the warmth of the season, and simply being together.
I can picture it all: the crackling and glowing fireplace, the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree, and the delicious aroma of Christmas dinner baking in the oven. Hot chocolate, candy canes, and gingerbread cookies are staples on my holiday favorites list, especially as snow falls softly outside. I love watching the birds flit playfully from branch to branch in the bushes and trees beyond the window.
Christmas oldies playing on the record player add the perfect soundtrack to these moments. I always loved when my mom played her cherished records—it’s a tradition that makes the season feel even more magical. Truly, the holiday season is my favorite time of year.
