I can just imagine the CDs I’ve sent out as promotion material to radio stations spending mere moments in a CD player and then going directly into the trash can. Even after getting permission to send a CD to a radio station or blog, I sometimes wonder if they even listened to all of the songs or gave the music a chance but I don’t spend long thinking about it. I am well aware beforehand that being an independent artist is not an easy path and I welcome the challenge. I simply keep going and I have since I was 15 years old. I will be turning 55 in just a couple months and I have not ever even considered giving up music, it is something that makes me feel complete and fulfilled and if I am the only one that feels my vision in a song that is okay with me. I work a 9-5 job and am preparing for retirement and it feels so go to know that I will always be able to make music. It used to be so important to me that others liked what I was writing and recording but as I get older I really have no opinion on that at all. If I send a CD to you and you like it great, if you don’t like it please feel free to toss it in the garbage. There is so much new music being released everyday and I am so happy and grateful for the listeners that comment and give feedback. Jango Radio has been a very healthy and positive listener experience for me and it is so amazing to see people listening and enjoying something I wrote. Thank you everyone that has listened to my songs, I truly love doing this whether people refer to it as a hobby or a career it doesn’t matter. It really is all about persistence and love of the songwriting craft. I an not trying to be a recording artist, or songwriter – I am one because I do it everyday and I am living my life as I do. If there is such a thing as making it big, then making it is finding what drives you and fulfills you most in life. I know many people that are still searching for their path and I hope they find it. I will support my family and friends with anything they decide they want to do and I will do what it is that fill me up. If you listen to all the negativity around you it will get you nowhere… No matter what, just keep going and do it the you want, not the way someone else thinks you should. Thank you for reading. Happy Holidays!
