Songwriting in nature

I went up north and found a cabin in the woods that was for rent. It was basically in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees. It was perfect. I checked into the cabin and unpacked. I had all my recording equipment with me, including an acoustic guitar and electric guitar and a portable midi  keyboard.

That evening, I built a fire and wrote a song sitting in front of the fireplace. The acoustics in the room were good. The cabin was just the right size and smelled of nature. I played well into the night and recorded everything needed make it a complete work.

The next day I sat out on the back deck, which towered nearly half as tall as the trees. I had my coffee and listened and watched the birds and other animals. It’s hard to go back to the busy lifestyle of home, but the cabin was only for one night. The song would be mixed and mastered within the week and put up on all the streaming platforms. This is how I like to write.
