Creativity and the negative dream squashers

If you’re a creative person with big dreams and an exciting future, be selective about who you share your plans with. Not everyone will understand, and some might try to discourage you, focusing only on potential problems and even trying to sabotage your efforts.

Some people are content with a life of passive entertainment and drama. If you encounter these types, they might target you, trying to diminish your energy and put you down.

I’ve learned this the hard way. I used to openly share my plans, thinking people would understand. But those who lack their own aspirations are often threatened by those who have them. My enthusiasm, instead of being met with support, was often met with negativity.

It’s hard to understand why my goals and hobbies would bother someone else so much. It’s not a competition. I’m happy to support others’ dreams; why can’t they do the same? My career choices and personal pursuits are just that – mine. They shouldn’t trigger anger, competition, or negativity. When someone tries to tell you “you can’t,” it often reveals their own insecurities. It’s as if they’re saying, “If I can’t do it, neither can you,” or “If I’m not reaching for something more, neither should you.” It’s not about thinking I’m better than anyone else; it’s about pursuing my passions. Why does that bother you? You need to deal with your own issues. I’m done with the negativity and unsolicited opinions. I won’t be sharing my plans with you anymore. It’s too draining. It’s time to grow up and focus on your own life.
