Free music marketing opportunity for independent music promotion

Now Accepting Bands for a Free Christmas Music Advent Coloring Calendar
We’re putting together a free adult coloring Christmas advent calendar created to help promote independent bands and artists in a fun, creative, holiday-themed way.
Each calendar will feature 24 independent bands, one for each day of the Christmas countdown. Every calendar spot will include a QR code that listeners can scan to hear a band’s Spotify song or playlist while they color the page.
This project is designed to mix:
Christmas coloring fun, independent music discovery, Spotify promotion, QR code interaction, and band-to-band community support.
How It Works
Bands can submit through the form on coffeeandaplaylist.com.
If selected, your band’s QR code will be placed on one day of the advent calendar. As December goes by, people can scan each QR code, discover a new band, listen on Spotify, and color the calendar.
There is limited space. Each calendar holds 24 band QR codes, and not every band that submits will be added. Once all spots are filled, submissions will close and a message will be posted on the website.
Participation Requirements
This is not a “submit and disappear” opportunity. The goal is for all bands involved to help promote the calendar together so everyone benefits.
Selected bands must:
Share a link to the calendar PDF download on their website, social media, email list, or fan page.
Download and print one of the calendars they appear on.
Color the calendar themselves using crayons or colored pencils.
Post their finished or in-progress coloring page on social media to show they are participating in the fun.
Avoid coloring over or blocking the QR codes so they can still be scanned.
Check out the other bands on the calendar by scanning the QR codes throughout December.
Actually listen to the other participating artists and help support the independent music community.
Why This Could Work
If all 24 bands on one calendar share the download link, that creates a lot of combined reach.
If every band prints and hands out just 3 copies to friends, fans, family, or local music supporters, that’s already 72 physical calendars out in the world. Some people may color them, post them online, scan the QR codes, share the download, or tell someone else about it.
That’s how something like this can snowball.
One calendar turns into a social post.
One social post turns into a stream.
One stream turns into a new fan.
One fan shares it with someone else.
And suddenly, a simple Christmas coloring page becomes a fun independent music discovery project.
Important Notes
This is a free music promotion opportunity, but participation matters.
The more each band shares, colors, posts, scans, and supports the other artists, the stronger the calendar becomes for everyone involved.
This does not guarantee streams, followers, or playlist saves, but it creates a creative way for independent music to reach new listeners during the holiday season.
Let’s make this fun. Let’s make it loud. Let’s make it festive.
Spotify is the preferred streaming service for submissions to make it easier for the person scanning the QR code to enjoy the music knowing it’s on one platform.
