Boost your Spotify streams like I did for my band!
I spent years building a blog to promote my music across Spotify and other streaming platforms, viewing each post as a seed planted for future search engine traffic. However, after creating a substantial catalog of posts with only minimal stream growth to show for it, I decided it was time to shift my focus toward more effective marketing methods.
One service that proved to be exceptionally valuable is SoundLink. By running Meta ads through their platform, I saw tangible growth across my monthly listeners, follower count, playlist adds, and saves. While my blog was essentially free to maintain, SoundLink is a paid service, and finding room for it on a tight budget can be challenging.
The results, however, speak for themselves. After launching a SoundLink campaign, one of my songs finally broke through the <1,000 stream mark on Spotify after years of sitting below that threshold.
These experiments convinced me that targeted campaigns are essential for training the Spotify algorithm. A major advantage of SoundLink is that the ads feature direct, clickable buttons to follow or play tracks instantly on Spotify. This approach worked especially well for promoting my curated playlists—both gained over 200 followers, which in turn drove steady, organic streams to my own tracks featured on those tracklists.
The momentum from past campaigns continues long after the ad spend stops, with streams and saves steadily increasing months later. Promoting independent music often feels like pushing a boulder up a mountain, only to find a chain of even larger peaks on the other side. You build speed coming down the first slope, but maintaining that momentum requires ongoing effort.
Spotify monthly listener growth
My Spotify monthly listeners went from about 5 monthly listeners to 677 monthly listeners after my SoundLink campaign. The newfound monthly listener count brought my streams up to 2,893 in 28 days, and there were also 13 song saves in that time frame as well.
